The 64 Aliyah Scriptures

There are 64 Old Testament scriptures that declare or prophesy Aliyah — the return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel. This is not a minor theme in Scripture. It is one of the most repeated and emphatic promises God ever made. He declares in Jeremiah 32:41 that He will plant His people in their land "with all My heart and with all My soul" — the only verse in the entire Bible where God expresses this level of personal intensity about any action.

How to Study These Scriptures

Don't rush through the list. Take one passage per day. Read it in context — at least 5 verses before and 5 after. Ask: Who is speaking? To whom? About what time period? What is promised?

Be Bereans. Test everything. Believe what the Word plainly says.

Acts 17:10–15

Eight Obligations of Gentiles to Israel

This study outlines the eight primary scriptural obligations Gentile believers carry toward the Jewish people — drawn from the whole counsel of Scripture.

Comfort God's People

Isaiah 40:1–2. The first obligation: speak comfort to Jerusalem. Not judgment. Comfort.

"Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God. Isaiah 40:1

Pray for & Watch Over Jerusalem

Psalm 122:6; Isaiah 62:6–7. Prayer for Jerusalem is commanded and carries a divine promise of prosperity.

Carry — Support Aliyah

Isaiah 49:22. Gentile nations are called to physically carry the Jewish people back to Israel.

Show Mercy

Romans 11:30–31. Gentiles received mercy through Israel's disobedience — and must return that mercy.

Contribute Materially

Romans 15:27; Isaiah 60:5–6. We owe Israel a material debt — she gave us the Scriptures and the Messiah.

Provoke to Jealousy

Romans 11:11. Our lives should make Jewish people long for the God of their fathers.

Proclaim

Isaiah 52:7. We are to proclaim good news to Zion: "Your God reigns!"

Bless and Do NOT Curse

Genesis 12:1–3. God's promise is unequivocal: those who bless Israel are blessed; those who curse her are cursed.

The Esther Fast

The Esther Fast (Esther 4:16) is a three-day water-and-food fast historically practiced when believers face a situation requiring significant divine intervention — especially in matters affecting God's people.

"Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do." Esther 4:16

Purpose of the Esther Fast

The Esther Fast is appropriate when believers are facing impossible circumstances requiring God's intervention — particularly on behalf of others, as Esther fasted for her people. For those called to intercede for Israel, it can be a powerful practice aligned with the heart of this ministry.

Whatever fast the Holy Spirit leads you to do, always remember that fasting is a way of saying to God that He is more important to us than food. Relationship is never founded on performance — but on loving and caring for the One who gave Himself for us.

Important Health Note

If you have serious health issues, are on medication, or have conditions that make extended fasting dangerous, please consult your doctor before undertaking a three-day water fast. God's requirement is faithful obedience within your capacity — not endangerment of your health.

Preparing for an Esther Fast

  • Spend time in worship and prayer before the fast begins
  • Eat lighter meals in the days before, especially fruits and vegetables
  • Hydrate well in the days prior
  • Consider taking leave from work to focus on prayer
  • Pray through Psalm 24 — clean hands, pure heart

Breaking the Fast

Begin with water and light fluids. Move to diluted vegetable juice or thin soup. Gradually introduce solid foods over the first day. Give your body time to readjust gently. Do not rush back to normal eating immediately.

The Tallit — Prayer Shawl

The tallit (טַלִּית) is the traditional Jewish prayer shawl, worn during morning prayers and on sacred occasions. Its fringes — tzitzit — are commanded in Numbers 15:38–40 as a reminder of all of God's commandments.

For Messianic believers and those who honor the Hebrew roots of their faith, the tallit is a garment of prayer and intercession — a visual reminder of the covenant between God and His people, and of the garment of Yeshua (Matthew 14:36, where "fringe" is tzitzit in Hebrew).

"Speak to the Israelites and say to them: Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments… You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord." Numbers 15:38–40
